Dr. Martin Mandischer holds a degree in Computer Science and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®), certified Scrum Master and Professional (CSM / CSP) and Professional Scrum Trainer (PST) of Scrum.org. He is head of project management at itemis.
Since the beginning of 90’s Dr. Mandischer gained experience in project management and in the course of this, especially in large enterprise projects, combined classical and agile methods.
Since 2006 he has been active as a CSM, CSP and assists companies with the introduction of agile methods. From Scrum and Kanban training on team coaching to the conversion of entire companies on agile methods, he accompanies customers on their way to more successful projects.
Agile methods are not an end unto themselves but always seen in the specific context of the customer.
Biography
I have been working in the IT since 1980. Starting from small projects (class scheduling) on my Apple II, through university projects with groups of 12 people working neural network software running on highly parallel machines.
In 1986 I had my first “agile” project. Me and a developer colleague working for 2 year to develop complex software for a large purchasing department. Daily meetings with the customer for inspection and adaption and daily production deployments. At that time we had no idea we were agile.
In 1992 I started working on larger and distributed (China, India, Germany) enterprise projects as a project manager.
In 2000 I started using agile methods such as iterative processes with close customer collaboration, continuous integration, pair programming and automated testing.
In 2006 I discovered Scrum and found that it actually covers my experiences in former projects. Since then I employ Scrum in all my projects and I love to share my experiences with customers and colleagues.
