Gunther has extensive experience in IT as a consultant. He was an early adopter of Scrum and eXtreme Programming in Belgium. He currently works for Capgemini where he is senior manager and global Agile Leader for Scrum.

Biography

Gunther has over 11 years of experience in IT consultancy. He initially worked as functional analyst and project manager, but only really felt at ease after he discovered eXtreme Programming in 2003 and led some projects on XP before adding Scrum in 2004 and being trained by Ken Schwaber.

He was an early adopter of Agile. And since the foundation of Scrum.org in 2009 Gunther has been following up on it closely, starting with joining the early assessment programs. In 2010 he achieved level I and II certification as Professional Scrum Master, followed by level I and II certifications as Professional Scrum Product Owner in 2011. He is Professional Scrum Trainer in both programs.

In 2010 Gunther joined Capgemini to consolidate various singular, grassroots Agile initiatives in Belgium and the Netherlands. He soon grew into a global leader position for Scrum within Capgemini. He is member of the board of the Agile Consortium Belgium, that was co-founded by Capgemini in 2009. And he is publicist, mainly on Scrum, on the international Capgemini Technology Blog.

Gunther works as Agile Engagement Manager for enterprise transformations to Agile/Scrum upon the CxO Playbook. Originally written by Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland, incorporating their experiences, this playbook was matched with the 8-steps Leading Change program by international change expert John P. Kotter.

Gunther is the author of various Scrum trainings within Capgemini, organized via the Dutch Capgemini Academy, an offering that is complemented with the official Scrum.org trainings.
